Who I am…

“A furious Brazilian guitarist, recognizable from the first notes” — that's how people describe me. After more than 30 years of playing, I've built a sound that's my own: energetic, soulful, somewhere between Rock and Blues, with roots in Salvador da Bahia and a home in Europe for over 20 years.

Based in Luxembourg for about 17 years now, I've become part of the local music scene across many different contexts. You might see my name linked to different projects — Fred Barreto Group, Notgods, Cavallini & Barreto Syndicate, and others. Some are my own, some are long-running collaborations — like Nea Lone, where I'm the guitarist but not the main face. And sometimes it's just me showing up to play a café gig, a cover trio, a last-minute sub slot — always on my own interpretation, always with the same commitment.

Some moments stand out. I've opened for Toto, Deep Purple, Slash, and Manfred Mann's Earth Band, and shared the stage with Robben Ford, Canned Heat, and others. In 2025, I was chosen to perform the Luxembourgish national anthem for the Grand Duke transition — a moment of genuine pride. That same year, I played Rockhal's 20th Anniversary.

Big stage or small room, it doesn't matter. I show up and give it everything!
